  • Smaller class sizes give you the opportunity to easily interact with the professor and other class members.
  • All classrooms are fully equipped with the latest technology. In addition, there is a staffed Business Computer Lab that is open 24/4 for student use.
  • Classes are offered year-round, during the day and in the evening. You can complete your degree on a part-time or full-time basis.
  • In 2022, MTSU accounting students were awarded over $150,000 in scholarships. 2022 winners can be seen here.
  • By completing both programs, you will be qualified to be a CPA in Tennessee once you pass the CPA exam, have one year of experience and pass the ethics exam.
  • Most other states require 150-credit hours for certification as well. You can see the 2019 CPA Exam Scores here.
  • The graduate program is very flexible and can be tailored to meet the career goals of each student. We even have four one-hour CPA Review Courses built into our MAcc. Our students do well on the CPA exam.
  • As a condition of graduating from MTSU, each student is required to take a Major Field Test in the semester that the student graduates. This Major Field Test compares graduates from MTSU with a national norm. Accounting students have traditionally scored above the national norm and the Department of Accounting has been recognized with an Academic Performance Award each year that the Major Field Test has been administered.
  • The MTSU campus is a safe and friendly environment with a diverse student body — 55 percent female, 33 percent minority, and with students from over 70 countries.
  • MTSU is located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the city that was voted the “most livable” city in the state. It has a population of more than 118,000 and lies about 30 miles southeast of Nashville. Murfreesboro is located in Rutherford County, one of the fastest growing counties in the country.
